With 30 days to go before the opening of the 7th China International Import Expo (hereinafter referred to as CIIE), the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission actively promoted the installation of mobile POS terminals and "full coverage of wallets" in taxis to facilitate multiple payment channels, providing better travel and payment convenience for Chinese and foreign guests participating in the CIIE. The vehicles of the CIIE support fleet of backbone enterprises such as Volkswagen and Johnson & Johnson were the first to be partially equipped with mobile POS terminal equipment that can support foreign card payment, contactless mobile payment, and active and passive code scanning payment.
Zhou Hua, customer service supervisor of the quality management department of Volkswagen Taxi, introduced that in order to solve the payment problem of foreign guests who are accustomed to swiping credit cards when taking taxis, Volkswagen Taxi and Bank of China jointly launched the "BOC Smart Payment" POS taxi in April this year. At present, nearly 1,000 taxis have been installed with POS machines, and it is expected that 2,000 vehicles will be installed before the CIIE. After the CIIE, such POS taxis will operate for a long time to serve passengers.
