Introduction to the Palace Museum

The Palace Museum, located in the center of Beijing, formerly known as the Forbidden City, is the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is also the largest and most intact ancient wooden structure complex in the world. Established in 1925, the Palace Museum is a comprehensive museum based on the imperial palaces and collections of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and it is the largest ancient art and culture museum in China.

  • Off-Peak Season (November 1 to March 31 of the following year): 40 RMB per person
  • Peak Season (April 1 to October 31): 60 RMB per person
  • Jewelry Gallery and Clocks and Watches Gallery: Separate admission, 10 RMB per person

  • Peak Season: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, ticket sales end at 4:00 PM, last admission at 4:10 PM
  • Off-Peak Season: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, ticket sales end at 3:30 PM, last admission at 3:40 PM

    Preferential Policies

  • Free Admission: Children under 6 years old or under 1.2 meters in height, seniors aged 60 and above, and people with disabilities are admitted free with valid ID.
  • Half-Price Discount: Minors aged between 6 and 18, full-time undergraduate students and below, are eligible for half-price tickets with valid ID.
  • Group Discount: Groups of more than 20 people can enjoy discounted ticket prices. Please consult the scenic spot for specific discount rates.
