Overview

Daming Palace National Heritage Park is located in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China. It stands as the ruins of the Tang Dynasty palace complex, designated as a World Cultural Heritage protection project, a national key cultural relics protection unit, one of the first batch of national-level archaeological heritage parks, and a national AAAAA-level tourist scenic area. Built in 635 AD on Longshou Yuan in the northern part of the capital Chang'an (now Xi'an), it was initially known as "Yong'an Palace" and later renamed "Daming Palace." It served as the political center and national symbol of the Tang Dynasty, earning the moniker "the palace of a thousand palaces" and "the eastern palace."
